Cruelty-Free BB Cream!

Beauty, Beauty Review, Cruelty-FreeKristenComment

Okay, so I’ve never used a BB Cream before, but I’ve been wanting to for a while. I remember when it first came out and everyone thought it was a literal miracle product. Since I ran out of foundation, I decided to give this BB cream a try while I was home for a weekend.

What I’m Using: e.l.f. BB Cream SPF 20 (in Fair)

For the most part, I really liked it! I think I was expecting for it to be more of a foundation, but it wasn’t and that’s fine. The formula was much thinner than a foundation. It really made my skin glow. I think this is perfect for when I wanna look a little more put together, but not completely done up. The BB Cream has sunscreen in it too, which is always a bonus since I am the sunscreen queen. I did notice that it wears off under my eyes very easily, and the formula is a little more oily than I’m used to since I usually wear matte foundation.

I would definitely recommend this cream to anyone who is looking for a BB cream. I'll be using this a lot more in the future.

Under Eye Concealer Review

Beauty, Beauty Review, Cruelty-FreeKristenComment

What happens when I run out of makeup? I buy more, except it’s usually different so I can review it.

What I Was Using: e.l.f. Complete Coverage Concealer (in Light)

What I’m Using Now: NYX Dark Circle Concealer

I really only use concealer for under my eyes, since I’m Italian and perpetually exhausted. I don’t really care about covering the other unflattering areas of my face. My e.l.f. concealer is awesome, but when I found this NYX concealer that’s made especially for under the eyes, I decided to give it a try.

At first, I was a little skeptical since I was confused as to how this concealer would be better for under my eyes than another one. When I opened the little thingy, the color was way darker than I expected, which kind of scared me. When I put it on my face, it still looked super dark, but once I stepped back it looked great and covered my circles almost completely. It lasted pretty well throughout the day too! I’m so happy I found this.

This works with my regular foundation and my BB cream too! I’ve also started wiping off the excess on my brush onto tiny zits, and they’re covered almost completely, so that’s a bonus.

Everyone tells me about how great NYX is, and after trying this, I could understand why. I would definitely love to try more NYX products in the future.

Welcome to the Jungle

Guess what guys? I went back to Lush. I went back and bought a conditioner bar. And I am never looking back. Today, I was introduced to Jungle.

The reasoning behind this conditioner is simple: it keeps my hair looking super smooth with minimal frizz. Pretty much the same as my reasoning for getting my Brazilliant shampoo bar.

Also though, this bar smells like the beach. Like, literally. It's made with avocados and figs and a bunch of other fruity stuff, but holy balls, it literally smells like the beach. I smell like I've just emerged from salt water.

On top of the fact that it basically gives me an orgasm almost every time I get a whiff of this thing, it actually works really well! It keeps my hair less frizzy, more silky, and super smooth.

I am seriously so happy with the products I've bought from Lush. I'll definitely be buying many more!

How Brazilliant

Lush. My dream. The reason I wake up every morning. The place I’ve never actually purchased anything from… until now. My best friend bought me a couple bath bombs from Lush, but I haven't used them yet. Every time I go to Lush, I see a bunch of cool things I wanna buy, but never actually buy anything.

Since I’ve been journeying into the land of the Cruelty-Free, I decided to actually buy something from Lush. My hair has been super dry and annoying lately, so with the help of a lovely sales associate, I chose this shampoo bar that’s great for thick, frizzy, dry hair. It's called Brazilliant.

I had never used a shampoo bar before, but once the woman in the store demonstrated it, I was immediately hooked. It smelled so delicious and citrusy, and it lasts for 60 washes! I think that's amazing. I also bought a cute little tin for my bar to reside in while I'm not using it.

When I used it in the shower, at first I was a little confused. I rubbed it in my hands and used it directly on my hair at first, which worked well. The second time I used it, the bar was stuck to the bottom of its tin, so I just rubbed it right on my head. To be honest, it kind of tangled my hair in the shower and made it difficult to brush while I was in there. It went away when I used my conditioner though.

As for my hair when it's dry, I've definitely noticed that it's more bouncy and less tangled. It's also more silky and less frizzy, which I really like. I would love to purchase a conditioner to keep my shampoo company.

Cruelty-Free Eyelashes

Beauty, Beauty Review, Cruelty-FreeKristenComment

Alright y’all, it happened: I finally switched mascaras. For those of you who have been following along, you know that it’s taken me a while to transition into using cruelty-free mascara since I was so obsessed with my other mascara. However, I bit the bullet and bought a new tube from e.l.f., because how can you go wrong with e.l.f.?

What I Was Using: L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara, Maybelline Great Lash Washable Mascara

What I’m Using Now: e.l.f. 3-in-1 Mascara

Okay, so I have naturally long eyelashes, but I love when they’re extra super long because they make my eyes pop. I think long eyelashes are super sexy, and they’re even sexier when they’re nice and dark. When I found Miss Manga, I thought I had hit the jackpot. My eyelashes were already super long, but now they were even longer. I usually topped off the tips with Great Lash to make them super duper long.

But when I tried e.l.f.’s mascara, I realized that Miss Manga wasn’t that special, honestly. L’Oreal’s thing is that Miss Manga has a brush that can move in all directions. Well, e.l.f.’s mascara does that too, and it has a really cool fat tip so it’s really easy to get precise parts of your lashes that need some special attention. I very rarely use Great Lash to touch up anymore. It’s cruelty-free, and it’s super cheap.

I’m not exactly sure why it took me so long to cross over, but I’m happy I did. I think I should have this attitude with most of my beauty products. Sure, I do like what I’m using, but there’s always something better, and if it’s cruelty-free, it’s worth it if I don’t like it as much. All I need to do is branch out.
