Pants???

Outfit of the DayKristenComment

Shirt/Dress (from Boston Harley Davidson). Tights. Boots (no longer being sold at Primark). Sunglasses. Lipstick (in Sanctuary).

Okay, so I've been seriously digging the long-shirt-no-pants look that artists like Ariana Grande and Halsey have been slaying. After my uncle passed away, I took a bunch of his really cool shirts with the intentions of either cutting them into crop tops and tank tops, but also to leave some as dresses. Here's one that survived!

This shirt is one of the most comfortable things I've ever put on my body. I actually bought this for him at the Boston Harley Davidson a couple years ago. I made a good choice! This shirt is perfect to wear as a dress because it comes down to a length that's pretty cheeky, but still looks like I'm wearing a dress instead of a shirt with no pants. And I love how long the sleeves are!

Obviously, this summer has got me super down. I haven't wanted to get dressed or do my makeup or do anything. But today I put on my tights, Clunkster boots, and dark lipstick, and I really felt like myself again.

90's Kid

Outfit of the DayKristenComment

Shirt (no longer being sold at Urban Outfitters). Bralette. Leggings. Sneakers. Sunglasses (mine are lighter).

Only 90s kids will understand. My cousin gave me this shirt and I fell 100% in love with it as soon as it was in my hands. The pattern, fabric, cut, everything about it is perfect. I really feel like myself in it! It even has a secret pocket. Damn.

I wore this masterpiece of a shirt with my bralette, high-waisted leggings, Converse, and choker because I am me. But I honestly can't see me wearing this any other way. Now that summer is approaching, maybe I'll see how it looks with some jean shorts. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be listening to *NSYNC on my walkman...

Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday! I wore this outfit the day after Election Day. To be honest, I’m pretty pissed about how things worked out. However, in true Clunkster fashion, I continued to be inappropriately optimistic and carry on with my life! So, I decided I wanted to wear blue.

I haven’t worn this dress in forever, but I love it so much! I wore my black long-sleeved shirt under, which I think looks adorable. I also wore my stockings, and my Clunkster boots.

My makeup was normal, and I actually did an okay job on my blush! I put my hair in a super duper high ponytail, which I haven’t worn in forever. My jewelry was normal as well.

I’m happy I actually got dressed!

Skirt (different color). Tank top (basic, sold anywhere!). Sweater (no longer being sold at The Gap). Sneakers. Sunglasses (similar).

Jesus Lord y’all, I am in love with today’s look. When I went to Pacsun a little while ago, I saw this jean skirt and got super excited because I've been looking for a good jean skirt FOREVER and haven't found one that looks good on me. Guys, this is The One. It's literally perfect. Just short enough, hugs my hips perfectly... and today I got to take it out on its maiden voyage.

Sure, I should probably get a bodysuit to go under this, but right now I have a black tank top that I can tuck in, so that works! In typical Clunkster fashion, I also wore a long sweater.

This look would be like beyond perfect if I wore these heels I picked out, but since I was doing a lot of walking today, I decided on my white Converse. They actually look super cute though! I also wore my round sunglasses, lighter than usual makeup, and normal jewelry.

If you couldn't tell, I really love this look. I'm so excited to experiment with this skirt more!

Return of the Pants

Outfit of the Day, StyleKristenComment

Jeans. Shirt. Headband. Sunglasses (the ones I have are a little lighter). Sneakers.

Today was the first time I wore pants that weren't leggings or sweatpants in a while, and I definitely felt the difference. Since today was my first day at work, I knew that leggings weren't exactly appropriate, so I stayed away from them. I knew, however, that I would probably be moving around a lot (I was wrong, but whatever), so I wanted to be semi-comfortable.

I love this style of jeans. They're technically high-waisted jeggings. Almost all of my jeans are high-waisted not only because I like the look, but also because I have a pretty big butt and the high waist can secure it without that awkward jean puff around my lower back. Been there, done that, not a fan. Everyone tells me they love these jeans because of the color, which I will admit is pretty cool.

Then, I went with a simple white T shirt. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with one. I love plain white Ts because you can make them casual, dressy, or something in the middle! I actually bought this shirt when it was much longer and used it as a Halloween costume. I shrunk it a lot, but I still love it! It'll definitely be on the blog a lot.

I also figured that sneakers would be pretty good since, like I said, I figured I would be on my feet a lot more than I actually was. I chose white because white Converse are relatively more polished than the other colors, and it matched my shirt well. The maroon stripe went well with my jeans too. I know that's nit-picky, but I'm nit-picky, so it matters. I just need to clean them (that's one cool/not so cool thing about taking pictures of your shoes every day; you realize how dirty they are!).

My headband made another bad hair day appearance (aka I didn't feel like straightening my hair) as well as my normal jewelry and makeup. Today's look was pretty simple, but okay enough to wear to work. I think it looks a bit more polished when my hair is plain and straight, but I really, really, really did not feel like doing my hair.

Probably the only downside to this outfit was that even though it was cold at work, it was hot outside, so driving home was annoying. Like I said before too, this was the first time I've worn actual pants in a while, so as soon as I got home I ripped them off and flopped on my bed. I am happily typing this post in the comfort of my sweatpants.

Moral of the story: pants are overrated.
