bite beauty's matte crème lip crayon (in glacé)

Hey cuties! I have another cruelty-free beauty review for you today. I got a birthday present from Sephora back in November (thanks, VIB rewards!) with a bunch of goodies from Bite Beauty. I’ve been wanting to give them a try since I wrote an article about them for a past internship, and learned about how cool they were. They’re a certified clean brand on Sephora’s website. Today, I’ll be reviewing Bite’s Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Glacé.

I’d never used a lip crayon this thin before, so I was a little nervous about giving this a try. I started by lining my lips, which I never do (I tried once and it was a fail), and continued coloring in my lips from the outside in, playing with the angles of the crayon a little bit. Because it was so fine, I could use as little or as much as I wanted, and touch up little areas. I had a lot of control, which I loved.

Hands down, my favorite thing about this lip crayon is the color. I did my nails a similar color when I took these photos, so I was thriving. I really love the way this color looks with my skin and features. I’ve been looking for a neutral-ish berry pink color like this for a while, so I’m really happy this was in my birthday present.

As much as I love this color, this formula does have its drawbacks. For starters, I don’t find it as hydrating as its description boasts, but I also haven’t tried it with my Agave Lip Balm yet, so stay tuned! The dryness made it difficult to reapply. Since my lips were a little too matte and dry, the crayon would sometimes snag or clump.

This is also supposed to be a long-lasting formula, and it definitely is, but I find that the color fades and changes into something more tan, and I have to reapply it more often to make sure the color remains the same. It dries out like a lip stain, which I really don’t like.

Though I’m hesitant to fully endorse this formula, I personally think the color and precision of the lip crayon are worth it over the dryness and fading. I definitely want to give more Bite Beauty products a try, like the Amuse Bouche Lipstick and Agave Lip Balm that were also in my birthday present. Stay tuned for more cruelty-free beauty reviews coming your way!

Nope. None. Well, that’s an exaggeration. I have a ton of pairs of Charlotte Russe jeans in all different colors that I tell myself I’ll need to wear at some point in my life. Sometimes, I do! Just two months ago I wore my blue jeans for a photoshoot for work, and last Halloween I wore my tan jeans when I was Rey from Star Wars. But aside from when I take them out to play, my jeans always stay in the chest of clothes that I only wear once in a blue moon.

I don’t have anything against jeans, I’ve just always had a problem finding some that fit me perfectly. I’ve been on the hunt for a good pair of baggy boyfriend jeans for a while now with no luck (if you know of a good pair, tell me in the comments!). I have a small waist, big butt, and thick thighs, so jeans just aren’t comfortable. I stockpiled all those pairs of Charlotte Russe jeans because they fit me the best.

But skinny jeans aren’t as cute as they once were, and I obviously prefer leggings. I wore this look to a Denim themed mixer (the last one I ever went to, RIP), and I’m pretty proud of how I dressed the theme while not dressing it at all. Believe me, I was really making the effort to wear jeans, but I was just thinking about having to peel them off of me when I got home later that night, and I knew that leggings were the way to go. I was so so comfortable and extremely warm! These fleece lined leggings will have my heart forever, to be honest.

I wore my black turtleneck and black boots, and last but not least, my denim vest. I got this from dELiA*s a while back and I’m so disappointed that I haven’t worn it more, so shoutout to our social chairs for bringing it back from the dead!

As far as my hair and makeup went, I kept things fun and basic with a half-up-half-down look and some pretty neutral makeup. I wore one of my new favorite lipstick colors that I’ll be reviewing soon!

What’s your favorite mixer theme? Let me know in the comments (and I’ll tell Gamma’s social chair)!

Happy 2019, my loves! 2018 was the year of apologies, so instead of apologizing for being MIA again, I’m going to promise to post more this year! Now that I’m a college graduate (just typing those words made me shiver), I’ll be using the time that I would usually be spending on homework on the blog! Please hold me to that promise.

I hope everyone had an awesome New Year’s Eve! I spent mine with friends that I haven’t seen in a long time, which made me really happy. I’m usually not a big fan of New Year’s Eve, so it was really nice to start the new year off right!

I’m also a huge fan of my New Year’s Eve look! I wore this black crop top and little black skirt, neither of which I’ve worn in a long time. It was nice to take them out for a spin! At first, I wanted to go super glamorous, but I ended up keeping things pretty lowkey. I straightened my hair and kept my makeup pretty neutral, except for my lip color, which was a darker pink. I’ll be sharing a review of it soon, so stay tuned!

What was your favorite memory from 2018? Let me know in the comments!
