What’s up cutie patooties? Tired of quarantine yet? I miss seeing my friends more than anything. Whether it’s hitting up some bars, going to house parties, or just getting brunch, I miss seeing their smiling faces and giving them lots of hugs.

Here’s an outfit I love to wear to social gatherings. As soon as I bought this snakeskin top and leather skirt at H&M, I knew they’d be a dream team. They just look so badass together!

Of course, I always have to wear my KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting Liquid Lipstick with this look (by the way, if you’re following along on my Instagram, I ended up buying three more tubes), but I like to switch up my shoes. I wore my thigh-high boots to my birthday party, which looked adorable, but I had to keep pulling them up the entire night, which was annoying. I wore my black Timberlands to the New Year’s Eve party my family threw, honestly because I wasn’t trying to get drunk and fall down in front of all my parents’ friends. Priorities! Of course, my black heels are a ride or die and probably look the best out of all of them.

I’m so excited to take this look out for a spin when we’re allowed out of our houses. What are you most looking forward to when quarantine is over?

A couple months back, my friend and I went to one of the coolest bars in New York, if not the world: Duff’s of Brooklyn! For non-heavy metal fans, this place is essentially a shrine to the bands I grew up listening to. Records and posters cover the walls, ceiling, and even the floor. Seriously, there’s no space that isn’t covered by some form of metal memorabilia. Even the bathrooms are cool! My personal favorites were the zombie sitting amongst the crowd, and the “Devil’s Ukulele,” signed by some of the greatest men in heavy metal. I was full of Corona and awe.

So what do you wear to a metal bar? I chose my Judas Priest tour shirt (and prayed that the friend I was meeting wouldn’t wear the same one), my trusty leggings, and a pair of heels (but my white Converse looked cute too). I wore my darker lipstick to fit ~the vibe~, and my blue light glasses once I realized how many neon signs there were.

If you’re a metal fan, I highly recommend checking Duff’s out. And if you’re not, go anyway! Just don’t get scared of the zombie I made out with.

thinking pink

my grandma’s nursing home has an incredible selfie mirror ;)

Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we? When I was about twelve years old, I was obsessed with the color pink. OBSESSED. I honestly can’t even tell you why. All I know is that I decked everything out in pink, pink, pink. I even had a pink-themed birthday party (which was the bomb, by the way).

Unfortunately, I think I pink-ed myself out after my tweens, and started wearing darker, more muted tones as I got older. No regrets there! Don’t get me wrong; I love a good pop of color. But head-to-toe pink just took it a bit too far (see photo for reference.)

i still love a good cross-body bag.

So I really surprised myself when I fell in love with this pink sweater last Black Friday. It’s super feminine and simple, and amazingly comfy. I usually wear it with leggings, but it also looks adorable with the black joggers that I’ve been obsessing over lately. I throw on my denim jacket and a cute matching scrunchie, and there we go! Twelve-year-old Kristen would be proud (and shocked at the lack of bangs).

Her Campus' College Fashion Week Fall 2018

Hello, loves! Back in October, I attended Her Campus’ College Fashion Week at Boston’s Revere Hotel. I had the best time! The event had a ton of great sponsors, like eos, Almay, and Ulta. I was given a literal ton of merch from a bunch of other amazing companies when I walked in.

The bar looked so fun, but I was still 20 at the time, so I couldn’t enjoy one of their cute cocktails. I made a cute pink sparkly pin that says “You’re Doing Fucking Great.” It’s still pinned to one of my bulletin boards :’)

Then, I entered the main event space, where I was met with, essentially, a beauty wonderland. The first thing I noticed was a pool of purple eos lip balms that people were taking pictures in (which was held together by Velcro, fun fact). To my right was a huge Ulta Beauty Studio, where attendees could get trendy hair or makeup looks done and show them off in their adorable photo booth.

Next to that was a delicious booth by Chloe., a new vegan fast-food chain in Boston, where I ate a bunch of yummy chocolate chip cookies! Next, I ventured to Almay’s Cosmic Café, a spacey lounge area full of Almay products on café tables surrounded by ring lights to aid in all the selfie-taking. I could’ve gotten an ice pop there, but instead I waited in line for an Almay makeup bag and some of their Goddess Gloss.

On the opposite side of the room were Primark’s fall styles in three decorated rooms for, you guessed it, more pictures! Between the Almay and Primark attractions were rows of chairs and a small runway. Most of the seats were taken when I got there, so I stood on the left side of the runway, where I had a perfect view the entire time.

When Windsor Western, Her Campus’ CEO, introduced the show, the explained that this year’s theme was The Real Runway, so none of the models we would see were professionals. Most of the girls in the show had never even modeled before! I couldn’t even tell. They all looked like they were having the greatest time on the runway. They danced, smiled, and posed while the audience cheered them on. It was such a positive experience.

The looks on the runway were SO cute too! The show was split into three sections: Modern Nomad, Printed Paradise, and Power Pose. All three featured clothes from Primark, the second featured MATTER as well, and the last included pieces from hcxo.shop, Feminist Goods, Ali & Ariel, femininitees, and Sleep Riot. To see some of the adorable looks that were featured, check out the “runway” highlight on my Instagram

After the show, I decided to take some pictures at Primark’s and eos’ booths since the lines were starting to wind down. Since I attended the event alone, I didn’t have anyone to take my pictures. Thankfully, everyone working the event was super sweet, and they enthusiastically snapped candids of me while cheering me on.

Overall, I had the best time at Her CampusCollege Fashion Week! I’m upset that I never knew this event existed when I was in my earlier years of college. If Her Campus brings this event to your city next fall, I would definitely recommend attending.

Happy Monday, my loves! Today’s look is also brought to you by my increasing separation anxiety from Disney World. I wore this on our last full day when we went to Magic Kingdom, my favorite park! It’s home to Big Thunder Mountain Roller Coaster, my favorite ride of all time. I have so many amazing memories in Magic Kingdom. I went to Disney World for the first time when I was six, and my parents and I ate dinner at the castle. We met Cinderella in the elevator, and she asked me what my baby doll’s name was. When we saw her later in the dining room, she went out of her way to say “Hi, Isabella!” to my doll. I was (and still am) so in awe of the fact that she actually remembered her name!

Anyway, since it was a little chilly when I went as a twenty-one year old, I wore my lighter leggings and my Star Wars letters. This cropped tee is great for chilly days because it covers the parts of me that usually get cold, but it doesn’t make me overheated! I wore this flannel and tied it around my waist when it started getting sunny.

My rose gold Minnie ears have to be my favorite part though! I had been looking forward to getting these ears for literal months before we actually got to Disney. I loved them so much, I didn’t take them off for the entire trip and for about a week after I got home.

What’s your favorite Disney park? Let me know in the comments!
